The Essential Ingredient, a vital part of Sydney’s dynamic food scene since 1989, is now located in Rozelle.
Well known from its original home in Camperdown and drawing on the loyal following from its former North Shore location, our new home at 731 Darling Street has all the Essential Ingredients for the passionate cook.
In addition to providing quality foods, cookware and culinary books for chefs, gourmets, and discerning home cooks, The Essential Ingredient Rozelle features its own Cooking School, equipped with Australian Design Award winning St George appliances.
The Rozelle Cooking School hosts a variety of classes, offered in a relaxed and friendly environment by our team of dedicated local and international guest chefs.

The new store has also added an ‘Espresso Bar’, serving multi-award winning ‘Vella Nero’ coffee and light café-style meals.
