A traditional, manual cast iron press for making your own tortillas at home. The natural weight of the cast iron makes pressing easy, with less force needed to flatten the dough evenly and quickly. Simply place a ball of masa flour dough between two plastic sheets or baking paper, position the dough in the centre of the open plate, close the press and firmly push the hinged handle down, applying even pressure. After use wipe down the press with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before seasoning with a light coat of oil to avoid rusting.
