‘Tis the Season – Christmas Wreath Making Class
The wreath is said to symbolize growth and everlasting life – its circular shape representing eternity. This Christmas, why not come and try your hand at wreath making, under the careful guidance of Maia Fung (from still life floral art) you can create something special to hang on your front door.
Symbolically true to form – these wreaths will last pretty much forever. Made from tortured willow and bent into shape by hand (by Maia) to provide the framework for whatever takes your fancy. So while it may be ‘the season’ – your wreath can experience many.
For this class we will focus on gum (both nuts and flowering), paper daisies and Berzelia. But fear not! When it is no longer ‘the season’ you can experiment with cactus, carnations on Mother’s Day, you can even throw a few frangipanis in it and wear it on your head to an Hawaiian themed party! The possibilities are endless – much like the shape of a wreath… hmmm…
While creating your floral art on this festive Sunday morning you will enjoy a cheese, bread and jam tasting, courtesy of Essential Ingredient, a glazed doughnut (courtesy of doughheads) and a mimosa – on us!
If anyone asks – tell them ‘tis the season’!
