Here at The Essential Ingredient we LOVE paella. We import paella stands, burners, pans & all the ingredients you need to make a delicious paella at home. It’s the perfect dish to make when feeding a crowd or even when there’s only two of you at home. The paella stand & burners makes for a nice change from the BBQ in summer + they are portable enough to take camping. If you want to give paella a go for the first time or you are in need of a new recipe, try this one:
Heat olive oil in paella pan over a medium heat & add chicken and cook for 4 minutes.
Add the chorizo & cook for a further 4 minutes.
Add garlic & spice mix to the pan & coat the chicken & chorizo.
Add the rice & stir to coat. Pour in the heated chicken stock & simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the tomatoes, piquillo peppers, capsicum & cook for a further 8 minutes.
Add prawns to the pan for last 2 minutes.
Serve with slices of lemon or lime & a sprinkle of parsley.
This recipe is cooked in a 34cm paella pan & cooked on our paella burner.
I have halved, doubled & tripled this recipe, depending on how many I cook for. Just remember to use the correct size pan, depending on how many people you are feeding.
