Easter means delicious treats.

If there’s only one time of the year when you indulge your sweet tooth, Easter has to be time to do it. There are so many delightfully decadent goodies from which to choose. Whether it’s chocolate, sweet biscuits, honeycomb, fondant, meringues, rocky road, marshmallows, cakes, caramels or toffees, if you’re going to stray from the straight and narrow path, make sure you do it in style with the best quality fare.

Regular customers of The Essential Ingredient Newcastle have been expectantly waiting for the annual shipment of Easter goodies from Sweetness The Patisserie, which is in store at last.

The sugar angels at Sweetness The Patisserie have worked their magic, producing our staff favourites; marshmallows made with freeze dried fruits. These mouthfuls of pure happiness will make you feel like a kid again, as they dissolve on your tongue and delight you with a hit of natural flavour. Choose a purse of tiny mixed cubes, or a packet of giant ones but promise you won’t roast them. They come in a range of flavours, including passionfruit, blueberry, blackberry, lemon, melon, lime and vanilla. Display them in a pretty bowl like top notch chocolates – they need no other accompaniment – and try to resist having more than one. But be warned, you’ll want to try every flavour.

We also have Sweetness The Patisserie iced bunny and egg vanilla shortbread biscuits, which are almost too cute to eat and absolutely picture perfect, as well as rocky road made with their famous marshmallows, in milk chocolate, dark chocolate or salted caramel flavours, or in half eggs, as well as adorable chocolate bunnies, mini florentines and dark chocolate dipped honeycomb.

Boutique bakery Dough & Co, based in Newcastle, has provided meringue jars and meringue shard packets, in flavours of rose and musk, passionfruit and raspberry, or blackberry, vanilla and almond. Leone’s Fruit Jellies in a keepsake Easter themed tin are ideal to share among friends and family, and we have gingerbread bunnies suitable for those after vegan, nut-free treats.

If you want the best of both worlds, don’t miss our hand-painted real eggs filled with chocolate truffles, imported from Germany. These are a visual delight and a taste sensation everyone in your family will want to try.

To keep your boiled eggs warm, and bring a smile to the face of eggspectant breakfasters, we have a wondrous range of crocheted egg warmers including a princess, a panda, a roast  chicken, a viking and even Santa.

Come in to the Essential Ingredient Newcastle at The Junction Fair to ensure your Easter is deliciously delightful.
