The Essential Ingredient Canberra store opened for business December 2003, brought to life by food lover Gloria Wilson. Neatly settled in the historic, leafy and growing foodie precinct of Kingston, the store is noted for its international and local cookbooks, high quality cookware and wide range of quality food products.

In March 2009 the retail store was expanded and relocated within Kingston to 25 Jardine Street, with the addition of a cafe bar and specialty cheese service.

The Essential Ingredient Canberra caters to the ACT region with experienced and professional staff and a broad range of both Australian and International products. A full range of speciality cheeses, fresh-roasted coffee and culinary books compliment an excellent cookware range, making The Essential Ingredient Canberra a must-visit for any serious foodie.

The Essential Ingredient also provides a wholesale service to the best restaurants in Canberra as well as some of Canberra’s most prominent institutions, including; The National Library, The National Gallery, The National Press Club, Government House and The Prime Ministers Lodge.
