The Essential Ingredient’s very popular cup cake decorating workshops are a fun way to learn the basics of cake decorating, from icing to piping to sugar flowers and more. This special edition cupcake decorating class will focus on how to create the delicate edible flowers that line only the most elegant of cakes. Use your new found skills to flowers in the shapes of roses, orchids and tulips.
The classes are small and everyone leaves with three cup cakes decorated using their newly found skills, as well as a small decorating kit to take home. Aprons are recommended.
Jacky Davidson has been decorating cakes for over 30 years ranging from children’s birthdays to carved cartoon characters, weddings and a variety of celebrations. Jacky has also entered a number of competitions ranging from moulded flowers, Easter eggs, teapots, figures and wedding cakes with some prizes under her belt. As a member of the Cake Decorators’ Guild of NSW, Jacky has demonstrated many times within her Branch at general meetings, Junior Guild meetings, Branch seminars, throughout the state, and at the Guild’s biennial seminars. Jacky also taught cake decorating within the Community College sector for eight years before taking on academia. Jacky has recently developed and implemented a series of cake decorating classes for a national franchise to teach and enhance franchisee decorating skills. Her qualifications include Workplace Training Certificate IV, a Master of Teaching, Bachelor of Arts (Art), Food Handling Certificate, and Cake Decorating Judge for the Guild since 2006.
